Well Opening in Yenleh Village, Sierra Leone

Well Opening in Yenleh Village, Sierra Leone

In May, a transformation unfolded in Yenleh village, Sierra Leone, thanks to the combined efforts of the community and Teams4U. Residents of Yenleh village dug a hole for a well, and Teams4U funded its completion. In October, the well was finished.

The well was opened after a crucial visit from the Sanitation Officer, who conducted a safety check and gave the well his approval. This momentous occasion was met with profound gratitude from the village chief, who spoke on behalf of the community. He expressed, “Before now, our greatest struggle has been pure drinking water. But through Teams4U and the Donors, the struggle has ended. They have made our dreams a reality.”

The well was then entrusted to the Women’s Leader of the village, who emphasized the significant impact on women’s lives, saying, “As women, we have suffered due to the lack of pure drinking water… All I have to say is thank you, and may God richly bless you.”

Nyuma Fallah, the Youth Chairman of the village, added his voice of appreciation, saying “a very big thank you”, acknowledging the transformative change that the well had brought to their lives.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our generous donors, as this is just the beginning. We are committed to digging wells ensuring access to clean water for communities. With your continued support, we can make a profound difference, one well at a time.
