‘Mackers’ passed away on the 6th of March at home with his wife Vera by his side.

Mackers has been involved with Teams4U since our beginning, and was heavily involved in the charity sector for over 30 years, particularly with projects in Romania.

Our founder Dave Cooke, who worked closely with Mackers for 3 decades, had known him long before. He said “Mackers has always been a great encouragement to me, an amazing example of selfless love. I will miss him loads”.

In Memoriam

In memory of Mackers, and his selfless commitment to people, his family and the Board of Teams4U have set up the Mackers Memorial Fund. The aim of the fund will be to provide partial travel bursaries to a limited number of young people (at the discretion of the Board) who want to get involved practically with our projects overseas.

“Mackers firmly believed in the power of travel, in connecting with people, eating – and drinking – at their tables, and doing something hands-on to help. He always wanted young people to see the world and be inspired to change things in practical ways.”
