Join an Empowerment Team and get involved with our schools & education programme around the Kumi District in Uganda. Our draft* itinerary  is as follows:

  • 18th Oct – Travel, likely stay in Entebbe
  • 19th Oct – Travel to Kumi
  • 20th Oct- Running the ‘Grid’** with Primary School 1 followed by in-the-classroom talks on Sex Ed., our Develop with Dignity programme, and making positive choices
  • 21st Oct – Same itinerary in a different school
  • 22nd Oct- Optional church visit, lunch at our partner’s house, followed by another school visit
  • 23rd Oct – Same itinerary as 4th in Primary School 3
  • 24th Oct – Primary School 4
  • 25th Oct – Primary School 5
  • 26th Oct – Travel to Jinja (source of the Nile), chance for souvenir shopping, camp at The Haven Lodge
  • 27th Oct – Travel to Entebbe & visit Uganda Wildlife Education Centre
  • 28th Oct – Travel home

*Itinerary dependent on flight times & subject to change

**The grid is a set up of (minimum) 7×5 cones with 7 lines of children (around 12-15 in each line) singing songs, dancing and playing games e.g. dribbling a ball, bouncing a ball, ‘piggy back’ & ‘wheel barrows’.
