Join an Empowerment Team and get involved with our schools & education programme around the Kumi District in Uganda. Our draft* itinerary  is as follows:

  • 2nd Aug – Travel, likely stay in Entebbe
  • 3rd Aug – Travel to Kumi
  • 4th Aug -¬†Running the ‘Grid’** with Primary School 1 followed by in-the-classroom talks on Sex Ed., our Develop with Dignity programme, and making positive choices
  • 5th Aug – Same itinerary in a different school
  • 6th Aug – Optional church visit, lunch at our partner’s house, followed by another school visit
  • 7th Aug – Same itinerary as 4th in Primary School 3
  • 8th Aug – Primary School 4
  • 9th Aug – Primary School 5
  • 10th Aug – Travel to Jinja (source of the Nile), chance for souvenir shopping,¬†camp at The Haven Lodge
  • 11th Aug – Travel to Entebbe & visit¬†Uganda Wildlife Education Centre
  • 12th Aug – Travel home

**The grid is a set up of (minimum) 7×5 cones with 7 lines of children (around 12-15 in each line) singing songs, dancing and playing games e.g. dribbling a ball, bouncing a ball, ‚Äòpiggy back‚Äô & ‚Äòwheel barrows‚Äô.
